Emma

Jane Austen

I was attracted to this novel due to the quotes written on the cover. As I read it, Emma actually started to disgust me. At first, she impressed me with her strong and independent demeanor, and then I was disgusted with how ignorant she would sound at times and I remember thinking “ewww, this girl is actually a nightmare and her dad is annoying” haha. Anyway, I was really interested in how things would turn out with Emma and her “love life” so I continued reading.

I don’t want to spoil the novel to anyone who didn’t read it, so I will proceed with caution.

Lo and behold, She ends up with the man I expected her to be with. I noticed how this particular character was honest with Emma, and told her when she was being disgusting ( I would like to use another word starting with a B and ending with an H, but I digress). Anyway, he told Emma the truth and was not afraid of her slick comments like some others were. I KNEW that Emma would end up finding that attractive. I ended up really enjoying the novel and I think my favorite aspect about it consists of watching Emma grow maturely and ultimately softly.

This is truly a classic and definitely worth the read.
