This novel was definitely different from my usual reads. However, it touched on some important relationships and mental health factors. One of the main characters, Ellie, is a singer and songwriter, but gave up that dream due to betrayal. She now nannys for Raphael and loves his son as if he were her own.
I don't want to ruin the novel and say too much... but you can probably guess where this is going. Nevertheless, it's a great novel. I found myself yelling at Ellie, Raphael, and myself while reading.
Also, there are some .... parts in the book that some would call "spicy" I actually do not like to read books like that but it wasn't too much, so if you're like me, you should still try it. Ellie and Raphael have been through a lot in the past, but that doesn't stop them from self-sabotaging and healing.
